Payment Policies

The following has been prepared to manage expectations and ensure that everyone is respected and treated fairly. Tutoring has generally been a very positive experience for me, students, and parents.

  • 'You' refers to the client (parent or guardian) or student.

  • 'Meeting' refers to the online tutoring lesson or session, typically lasting 1-2 hours.

HOURLY RATES

  • Please message or email jasonbrodytutoring@gmail.com for current rates.

  • I will send an invoice after each tutoring session. Payment is expected before the next meeting.

  • Sliding scale is available upon request. Must show proof of income.

COMPLETING PAYMENTS

  • I accept payments through Zelle or by money order.

CANCELLATION/NO SHOW BY CLIENT/STUDENT

  • Either party may cancel a meeting by giving minimum 24 hours notice.

  • A no-show fee of $40 will be applied if you are a no-show.

  • A credit of $40 will be applied if I am a no-show.

TERMINATION

  • Tutoring may be terminated by either party for any reason.

OBLIGATIONS

  • You agree to begin each meeting with all materials and work having been completed to the best of your ability.

  • If the parent or guardian wants to talk to me, a separate time will be arranged that is mutually agreed upon. Parents should generally avoid using tutoring time to talk to me about their child.

RISKS

  • Tutoring is a joint endeavor that requires hard work on both the part of the tutor and the student. I would be able to offer guarantees in a classroom setting, in which I could force students to study or complete assignments, but with private tutoring that would be a waste of your time and money. Private tutoring assumes a certain degree of maturity and self-motivation on the part of the student. Parents can be most helpful in this regard.

  • As such, there are no guarantees as to scores, acceptances, or performance as a result of tutoring. Each party enters into this agreement at his or her own risk.
